These Terms & Conditions apply to products and services supplied by BadGoats IT Services in the United Kingdom.
By booking a service, requesting a repair, purchasing a custom-built computer or using our remote support service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
BadGoats IT Services provides PC and laptop diagnostics and repairs, hardware upgrades, custom-built desktop computers, remote IT support, software and operating system support, and home and small-business IT support.
Where a computer or laptop requires diagnosis, we will inspect the device before confirming the final repair price.
Once the fault has been diagnosed, we will provide the customer with the cost of the recommended repair or upgrade.
No paid repair work will be carried out until the customer has agreed to the quoted price.
If further faults are discovered after the customer has approved the repair, we will contact the customer before carrying out any additional paid repair work.
Where a diagnostic fee applies, the customer will be informed before the device is accepted.
The diagnostic fee remains payable if the customer decides not to proceed with the repair.
Custom PCs are built to order.
Components are sourced from UK suppliers once payment has been received.
The specification and total price of the computer will be shown or agreed before the order is accepted.
If a selected component becomes unavailable, we will contact the customer before making any substitution.
We will not substitute a materially different component without the customer’s agreement.
All prices displayed or quoted are the prices payable by the customer at the time the order is accepted.
Where VAT applies, it will be included or clearly shown as required.
Once a repair quotation or custom PC order has been accepted, the agreed price will not be increased without the customer’s agreement.
Custom-built computers must be paid for before components are ordered unless otherwise agreed.
Once payment has been received and cleared, the required components will be ordered and the build process will begin.
All custom PC components are subject to supplier availability.
If a component becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact the customer and offer a suitable alternative, the option to wait for the original component where practical, or a refund where the order cannot reasonably be fulfilled.
Any significant alternative will be agreed with the customer before use.
Each custom PC is assembled, configured and tested before dispatch or collection.
The expected build and delivery timescale will be provided or agreed with the customer.
Where no specific delivery period has been agreed, goods will be supplied within the period required by applicable UK consumer law.
Repairs and upgrades will be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Where replacement parts are required, they may be ordered from our suppliers after the customer has approved the quotation and the required payment has cleared.
Where possible, repaired or upgraded equipment will be tested before being returned to the customer.
Repairs, diagnostics and upgrade work are carried out at our workshop.
Customers must drop off their computer, laptop or other equipment at the workshop by prior arrangement.
The full workshop drop-off address will be provided once the appointment has been confirmed.
Customers should not travel to the workshop until their drop-off appointment has been confirmed.
Once the repair, diagnosis or upgrade has been completed, the customer will be contacted and must arrange collection of their equipment from the workshop.
BadGoats IT Services does not normally deliver repaired, diagnosed or upgraded customer-owned equipment.
Delivery is provided for custom-built PCs purchased from BadGoats IT Services, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Customers should back up important files before providing a device for repair, upgrade or diagnosis where reasonably possible.
Some faults, including failed storage devices, corrupted operating systems, malware or hardware failure, may involve a risk of data loss.
We will take reasonable care when handling customer equipment and data.
We will not intentionally access personal files unless reasonably necessary to carry out the requested work.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Where a password or login is required to diagnose or repair a device, it will only be used for the purpose of carrying out the requested work.
Customers should provide only the access details reasonably necessary for the service.
Login details provided for repair or remote support will not be used for unrelated purposes.
Remote support is provided only with the customer’s permission.
The customer must have authority to allow us to access the device or system concerned.
During a remote-support session we may view system settings, software, error messages, files or other information where reasonably necessary to diagnose or resolve the issue.
We will only make changes that are reasonably connected with the support requested by the customer.
The customer may end the remote connection at any time.
We cannot guarantee that every problem can be resolved remotely.
Where a problem appears to require physical repair or replacement hardware, we will advise the customer.
Where a customer asks us to install a component they have purchased themselves, we are not responsible for defects, faults or damage already present in that component before installation.
We may refuse to install a part that we reasonably believe is incompatible, faulty, damaged or unsafe.
If a customer-supplied component later fails because of a defect in that component, BadGoats IT Services is not responsible for the defect itself unless the failure was caused or contributed to by our installation work.
Our responsibility for carrying out the installation service with reasonable care and skill is unaffected.
Goods supplied by BadGoats IT Services must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms removes or reduces the customer’s statutory rights under UK consumer law.
Computer components may include a manufacturer’s warranty.
A manufacturer’s warranty is additional to the customer’s statutory rights and does not replace the customer’s legal rights against BadGoats IT Services as the seller.
Where appropriate, we may assist customers with warranty issues relating to components supplied as part of a custom-built PC.
Customers purchasing online may have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law.
For many online purchases, consumers have a 14-day cancellation period.
Cancellation rights may depend on the nature of the goods or services ordered.
A computer assembled from standard component choices is not automatically excluded from cancellation rights simply because it was built after the order was placed.
Where a product is genuinely made to a customer’s unique specification or personalised beyond the standard options normally offered, different cancellation rules may apply.
Nothing in these Terms removes any statutory cancellation rights.
If a customer asks us to begin a repair, remote-support service or other service during a statutory cancellation period, we may ask the customer to expressly confirm that they want the service to begin immediately.
Where permitted by law, if the customer later cancels after work has begun, they may be required to pay for the proportion of the service already provided.
Customers will be contacted when their equipment is ready for collection.
Customers should arrange collection within a reasonable period after being notified.
If equipment remains uncollected for a prolonged period, we will make reasonable attempts to contact the customer before taking further action.
Delivery is available for custom-built PCs purchased from BadGoats IT Services.
The delivery method, delivery cost where applicable and expected delivery timeframe will be shown or agreed with the customer before the order is completed.
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.
We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect delivery information supplied by the customer.
Custom-built PCs will not be dispatched or delivered until the required payment has been successfully received and cleared.
Customers should inspect delivered custom-built PCs and their packaging as soon as reasonably possible.
If equipment or packaging appears damaged during delivery, customers should contact us promptly and, where possible, provide photographs of the packaging and equipment.
Reporting damage promptly helps us investigate the matter with the delivery company and does not affect the customer’s statutory rights.
Where software or an operating system is installed as part of a service or custom PC build, the customer is responsible for complying with the applicable software licence terms.
Where a software licence is included with a purchased system, the licence will be supplied or activated as appropriate.
BadGoats IT Services will not knowingly install pirated or unlawfully licensed software.
Where we provide malware removal, security configuration or cybersecurity-related assistance, we will carry out the service with reasonable care and skill.
No computer or network can be guaranteed to remain completely protected against all future malware, security threats, unauthorised access or cyber attacks.
Customers remain responsible for maintaining suitable passwords, backups, software updates and security practices after the service has been completed.
Nothing in these Terms removes any responsibility that BadGoats IT Services is required to accept by law.
We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, faulty goods, poor workmanship, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in this section affects a customer’s statutory rights.
If a customer is unhappy with a product or service, they should contact BadGoats IT Services so that we have the opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
We will aim to deal with complaints fairly and within a reasonable period.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information provided for repairs, bookings, purchases or remote support will only be used as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service and for other lawful business purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.
The Terms that apply to an order or service will normally be those in force when the order was placed or the service was agreed.
If any part of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Consumers retain any mandatory legal protections that apply to them.
