Refunds & Returns
We want buying from BadGoats IT Services to be clear and straightforward.
This page explains how cancellations, returns, faulty products, custom-built PCs and refunds are handled.
The Important Parts
A quick summary before the full policy.
Days to Cancel
For most standard goods bought online, consumers normally have 14 days after receiving the goods to tell us they wish to cancel.
Days to Return
After notifying us of a qualifying cancellation, you normally have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
Faulty Goods
Consumers may have a short-term right to reject faulty goods within the first 30 days.
Custom Builds
Genuine made-to-order or personalised systems may be exempt from the normal change-of-mind cancellation right.
A standard Dell, Lenovo, ASUS, ARCTIC, Alienware or other manufacturer's PC is not considered custom-made simply because BadGoats orders it from a distributor after you place your order.
The custom-made exception is intended for systems genuinely built or significantly configured specifically to an individual customer's requirements.
Refund, Return & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
01 Cancelling an Online Order
If you are a consumer purchasing standard goods online, you normally have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason.
To exercise this right, you must clearly tell BadGoats IT Services that you wish to cancel within the applicable cancellation period.
You then normally have a further 14 days to return the goods.
02 Change-of-Mind Returns
For eligible standard products, you may inspect the goods in the same way you reasonably would in a physical shop.
You should take reasonable care of the product while it is in your possession.
We recommend returning the product with its original packaging, accessories, manuals, cables and other supplied items wherever reasonably possible.
Original packaging is not by itself a condition of exercising your statutory cancellation rights.
If a product has been handled or used beyond what is reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality, an appropriate deduction may be made to reflect any reduction in value where permitted by law.
03 Return Postage
Unless BadGoats IT Services agrees otherwise, the customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning goods where the return is simply because they have changed their mind.
Because computers can be high-value items, we strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured delivery service.
This does not apply in the same way where goods are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
04 Refunds Following Cancellation
Where an eligible online purchase has been validly cancelled, we will refund the appropriate amount paid for the returned goods.
Where you paid a delivery charge, the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option available for the order will also be refunded where required.
Additional charges for premium or upgraded delivery do not normally have to be refunded beyond the standard delivery amount.
We may wait until the goods have been returned, or until satisfactory evidence that they have been sent back has been provided, before completing the refund.
05 Custom-Built & Personalised PCs
The standard change-of-mind cancellation right may not apply to goods genuinely made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised.
This may include a computer built specifically to an individual customer's requested configuration where components or configuration have been selected specifically for that customer.
This exception does not remove your rights if the custom-built system is faulty, not as described or does not otherwise conform to the contract.
06 Standard Pre-Built PCs
Standard manufacturer-built computers and other standard products sold through the BadGoats online shop are treated as ordinary goods.
A product does not automatically become a custom-built product simply because BadGoats IT Services orders it from a distributor after receiving the customer's order.
Normal consumer cancellation rights therefore apply where required by law.
07 Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Goods
Goods supplied by BadGoats IT Services must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose and as described.
If you believe an item is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Depending on the circumstances and the time that has passed, your remedies may include a refund, repair or replacement.
08 Faults Within 30 Days
Consumers may have a short-term right to reject goods that do not conform to the contract within the first 30 days and receive a refund.
The remedy available will depend on the circumstances and the nature of the problem.
09 Faults After 30 Days
Where an eligible fault is reported after the initial 30-day period, a repair or replacement may normally be offered first where required by law.
If an appropriate repair or replacement cannot be provided, is unsuccessful, takes an unreasonable amount of time or causes significant inconvenience, further remedies may be available.
10 Manufacturer Warranties
Products may also include a manufacturer's warranty.
A manufacturer's warranty is additional to your statutory rights and does not replace them.
Where appropriate, BadGoats IT Services may help with a manufacturer's warranty process.
11 Accidental or Customer-Caused Damage
BadGoats IT Services is not responsible for faults caused after delivery by accidental damage, misuse, liquid damage, inappropriate modification or other customer-caused damage.
This does not remove consumer rights relating to an unrelated original fault in the product.
12 Upgrades & Modifications
Installing ordinary software or using a computer normally does not automatically remove your statutory rights.
Where damage is caused by an incorrect modification, attempted repair or inappropriate installation, BadGoats may not be responsible for that particular damage.
13 Repairs, Upgrades & Remote Support
Online contracts for repair, diagnostic, upgrade or remote-support services may also have a cancellation period.
Where you expressly ask BadGoats IT Services to begin providing a service during the cancellation period and later cancel, you may be required to pay a reasonable amount for work already carried out where permitted by law.
Services remain subject to applicable consumer rights, including the requirement that they are performed with reasonable care and skill.
14 Deposits & Custom Work
Where a deposit or advance payment is required for a custom build or specifically commissioned work, relevant conditions will be explained before the order is confirmed.
Genuine work already carried out or legitimate non-recoverable costs may be taken into account where legally permitted.
15 Orders Cancelled Before Dispatch
If you contact us before a standard product has been dispatched, we will normally cancel the order and process the appropriate refund.
Different rules may apply where an order is for genuinely customised or personalised goods and work has already begun.
16 Klarna, Clearpay, Cards & Other Payments
Where an order was paid through a third-party payment provider, an approved refund will normally be returned through the same provider or original payment method.
For Buy Now Pay Later services such as Klarna or Clearpay, the payment provider will normally update, cancel or refund the customer's payment arrangement after the refund is processed.
Processing times may vary depending on the customer's bank, card issuer or payment provider.
17 Proof of Purchase
We may ask for reasonable proof that the item was purchased from BadGoats IT Services.
Suitable evidence can include your order confirmation, invoice, receipt, payment record or other reasonable evidence of purchase.
18 Returning Computers & Personal Data
Before returning a computer containing personal information, customers should back up any information they wish to keep where reasonably possible.
Unless a fault prevents you from doing so, please also remove personal accounts, passwords and activation locks before returning a device.
Do not send a computer or other product to an address until BadGoats IT Services has provided the appropriate return instructions.
19 How to Request a Return
Contact BadGoats IT Services before sending an item back.
Please include your name, order number, product concerned, whether you are cancelling, returning or reporting a fault, and a brief description of the problem where applicable.
We will then provide the appropriate next steps and return instructions.
20 Your Statutory Rights
This policy explains how BadGoats IT Services handles returns, cancellations and refunds.
It does not exclude, restrict or replace rights provided by applicable UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
